Making Verb Tense Choices
In the paragraph below, circle the correct verb form for each numbered item.
Since the action in the paragraph occurred in the past, many of the verbs will be
in past tense. However, you will find a few instances where past tense is not the
best tense! The goal is to maintain consistency in verb tense unless you have a
