Much is written about the need for Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance reform. Many of the proposals to address the issues involved in paying for our health care involve the shifting of cost to different levels of government, rather than addressing the need to reduce the actual costs of health care. Healthcare providers, including nursing facilities, would like to see tort reform, regulatory relief, greater use of generic drugs, and elimination of unfunded mandates, etc. to begin to reduce the cost of health care. Discuss any thoughts you may have to reduce healthcare costs. Also, considering the change in the federal administration, predict whether and how the actual costs of health care may be reduced – or not. Speculate on how the repeal of the ACA may impact this.
