Different governments react to and try to prevent terrorism in a number of different ways depending on whether the terrorism is domestically grown or foreign grown. A number of policies supported by governments seek to institute security measures to seek out and destroy terrorist leaders and organizations. This is usually done by a series of policing or military measures. In addition to security measures governments also often use economic or political measures to try isolate terrorist groups and prevent individuals from joining them.
