do you think the Congress should establish formal qualifications of Supreme Court justices? Why or why not?

Sagot :

Like many questions in social studies, It's really up to you.

Do you think formal qualifications should trump ones ideas? Or should it be opposite, where justices should be picked solely on what they would do as supreme justices.

The question can also apply to say, the President, Should you have a distuinguishable political career, or should anyone be able to run?

Fun related fact: Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, was a peanut farmer.
The answer is all up to you! These have got to be my favorite types of questions. For instance - all the justices are held accountable, right? They all fulfill the same job etc. However how do they get to that position? By the President electing them and they getting voted in later by Congress. I think personally it's almost a catch 22. You can have qualifications put forth and make sure they're all upholding them or continue with how the system is today. In present time I think the system of selecting the justices is working great. So that is my opinion- what do you think? Put yourself in the Presidents shoes and have a think about our justice system! :)
