In addition other essential supplies like medicine or other things essential to life or treating wounded or sick individuals in a society. Today the list is extensive and goes as far as preventing necessary trade and economic exchange to allow a society or group of people to survive and thrive. A siege is usually used as a military tactic to oppress a group of people or military group into surrender or to defeat them outright.
