Anthropologists are traditionally the types of academics or "scientists" who study the customs or culture of a group of people. In addition there are other academic fields that study the customs of groups of people under the general category of social scientists but more specifically sociologists, psychologists, political scientists and others work to study the customs or cultures of groups of people as well.
