If the product of two positive fractions a and b is 15/56, find three pairs for possible values for a and b

Sagot :

all you have to do is find pairs of factor for both 15 and 56
e.g. 1,15   3,5
      1.56    2, 28   4, 14

so three possibilities could be
1/1 x 15/56
3/4 x 5/14
1/2 x 15/28

Answer

Find out the three pairs for possible values for a and b .

To prove

As given

[tex]The\ product\ of\ two\ positive\ fractions\ a\ and\ b\ is\ \frac{15}{56} .[/tex]

i.e it is written in the form.

[tex]a\times b = \frac{15}{56}[/tex]

When

[tex]a = \frac{3}{2} , b = \frac{5}{28}[/tex]

Than

[tex]\frac{3\times 5}{2\times 28} = \frac{15}{56}[/tex]

When

[tex]a = \frac{3}{4} , b = \frac{5}{14}[/tex]

Than

[tex]\frac{3\times 5}{4\times 14} = \frac{15}{56}[/tex]

When

[tex]a = \frac{1}{2} , b = \frac{15}{28}[/tex]

Than

[tex]\frac{1\times 15}{2\times 28} = \frac{15}{56}[/tex]

Hence proved
