Will give brainliest! The main reason why the Americans withdrew from Vietnam was because they were beaten by the Vietcong. To what extent do you agree.

Sagot :

I have to disagree. The US withdrew from the Vietnam war for several reasons. Some include how they had to fight in unfamiliar territory; they were not prepared for the conditions and different environment. (Which I suppose you can argue how this could be a factor on how they were “beaten”) As well, back in America, there were many protests for the US military to pull out of the war, and against the war; a movement “make peace not war”. This added to the low moral of the US military in Vietnam, and the eventual withdrawal from the war.
