Answer: id try to shoot a non lethal place because it may stop the shooter it may not if then deadly force would come into issue  the athority is that the shooter is endangering and assulting a law enforcement officer and is endangering the lives of other citizens.

if i injured another person (not the shooter)  i think id be either questioned and or fired depending on the severity of the wound i also think that  i would get sued or the police department.
