she feel that she is different and this type of attention can affect her mood on going to school, another thing is that she might feel bad about being a certain color or races when she should in braced her hieratites
shayla feels as if everything has to evolve around her and her race/culture because shes the only black student in the class, and by how much of a steriotypical it is, she hates the assumption. she clearly doesnt like the form of attention she's getting so she feels uncomfortable.
