What is the Impressionist movement? Why was this not popular at the time?

Sagot :

Art is art ^_^^ - ^ ...... yeah
The impressionist movement began in the late 1800’s. Essentially a group of Paris based painters who rebelled against classical subject matter. They had a desire to paint things around them/ what they saw. They did so using small thin strokes of paint. It was not popular at the time because they did not follow the basic rules of painting at the time and their color pallet was considered vulgar.

I hope this helps a little!! :)
