well-known perceptual phenomenon is called inattentional blindness. People experience this when they are so focused on one thing that they completely fail to see something else right before their eyes.
An image isn't attached, so I'm going to assume you mean images in general. Different people will perceive images in different ways based on their predisposed opinions (ie. upbringing, living situation, beliefs, etc).
