Sagot :
While the idea of a second chance for salvation is appealing, the Bible is clear that death is the end of all chances. Hebrews 9:27 tells us that we die, and then face judgment. So, as long as a person is alive, he has a second, third, fourth, fifth, etc.
Loyal followers of christ are the ones that will make it into heaven. Matthew 24:13 states “but he who stands firm to the end will be saved”, Romans 10:9 states “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Probably the best bible verse to answer this question is Matthew 7:21-27 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”
Now, what does this tell us? It explains that only the ones who will stand firm through the end will make it to heaven. You need to live for God and his will to be saved in the end. That is the key to heaven. God gave us free will, a choice of if we follow God or the world. We need to choose God and his will, which is what gets us into heaven. Unbelievers have that choice now. But, sadly, many of them do not “change” until they realize God is real on Judgement day, and will not be accepted. We all have a choice.
