PLANTS are organisms which are capable of manufacturing their own food  through the process of photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis is defined as the process by which plants use low energy containing inorganic compounds (example carbondioxide and water) in the presence of sunlight, as energy, to produce high energy organic compounds such as sugar. These sugar are used as source of energy in the plant cells.

While animals are the organisms that directly depend on plants( another organism)

Therefore, the organism that obtains energy without directly depending on another organism is a PLANT.
