Aliyah’s dog gave birth to 7 puppies 3 days ago. The dad of the puppies is all black and mom is all white. However, when she checked, there were 2 all black puppy, 2 white, 2 with black and white spots and 1 brown fur puppy. How was that possible? Explain.

The black allele from the father and the white allele from the mother creates co-dominance, so the puppy will be black with white spots. The brown allele from the father and the brown allele from the mother creates a brown puppy. If white OR black allele combined with a brown allele, the dominant allele will be expressed, rather then the brown recessive allele.
