My first tasks as the president of the country are to practice what I preach and to ensure that the general population is educated on the dangers of discrimination arising from racism.

  • Racism is a systemic problem that will not easily go away, especially when those in leadership do not show the way. As the president, I will live and lead by example.

  • Both speeches and actions of the president should demonstrate absence of racial patronage.  The president, after election, becomes the president of the country and not his or her race or party members.

Thus, the starting point to break cultural barriers is by showing examples as the president, and then following this up with education, openness, and discussion.
