Wind in a frolic
BY: William Howitt
Read stanza 2 from the poem.
So it swept with a bustle right through a great town,
Creaking the signs, and scattering down
Shutters, and Whisking, with Merciless squalls,
Old women's bonnets and gingerbread stalls.....
What does the word bustle mean as it is used in the stanza above?
1) to move around loudly
2) to move around quickly
3) to move around quietly
4) to move around slowly
