At Mike’s Pet shop there are 300 total animals and the ratio of cats to dogs is 7:3. At Pets R Us there are 150 total animals and the ratio of cats to dogs is 6:4. What fraction of the total animals at both stores are cats? Show your work

Total cats = 30 x 7 =210

Cats = 15 x 6 = 90

Total cats = 210 + 90 =300

Total animals = 300 + 150 = 450

Fraction that are cats = 300/450 = 2/3
