as the triangle is rectangle   isoceles, then the  three side are  :  

x , x , 6  where 6 is the  hypotenuse.  

So using pythagoras theorem we know that  :    x²+x² = 6²

                                                                                2x² = 36

                                                                                  x² = 36/2

                                                                                  x² = 18

                                                                                   x = √18
