The use of foreshadowing during this text is employed to stay the reader aroused and to avoid a potential disappointment. At the start, the talker expresses his/her feelings once going back to aunt Gertrude's house. It looks that the atmosphere is extremely nice as a result of it's compared to a fairy tale but then then , the mood changes and therefore the reader gets the impression that something wrong is going to happen. the mentioning of the ´fairy tail´could be related to the great gesture Gertrude had with the orphans and therefore the change of mood with the secret on the brink of be discovered.
