Can a specialized cell in a plant become unspecialized? If so, what is it called?
I read that animal and plant stem cells can become specialized, but only plant specialized cells can turn back into normal unspecialized stem cells. Is that true?

Cell division in plants occurs in regions called meristems . Cells of the meristem divide by mitosis and produce unspecialised cells. These cells can differentiate to produce all types of plant cells at any time during the life of the plant.
