The ratio of tench to minnows to goldfish in the pond is [tex]15:7:28[/tex]

What is ratio ?

Ratio indicates how many times one number contains another.

We have,

Total fish [tex]=50[/tex]

Tench fish [tex]=15[/tex]

Not tecnch [tex]= 50-15=35[/tex]

According to the questions;

Of the fish that are not tench, [tex]\frac{1}{5}[/tex] are minnows,

i.e. Minnows [tex]=\frac{1}{5}*35=7[/tex]

Rest are goldfish i.e.

Goldfish [tex]= 50-(15+7)=28[/tex]

So, the ratio of tench to minnows to goldfish is;

[tex]15:7:28[/tex]

Hence, we can say that the ratio of tench to minnows to goldfish in the pond is [tex]15:7:28[/tex] .
