When you divide fractions (negative and postive) you do this rule called, "keep, change, flip." Let's say we have 1/2 divided by -1/4. We keep the 1/2, change the sign, so from division to multiplication and flip -1/4, which will be -4. So now we can evaluate from 1/2*-4...which is -2. Same thing with all postive and negative fractions, when you are dividing of course!
