J.J. Thomson was a scientist and one of the founding fathers of the atomic
model. He proposed that an atom has negatively-charged electrons
embedded in a positively-charged particles thereby balancing the charges.
He called the negatively charged electrons 'plum' and the positively charged
ones 'soup' . This model however didn't take into account atoms having
