R: What does the passage reveal about Mary and Martha and what are the two traits that can be used to describe them?

A:

Martha has a strong personality and is self-aware. Mary on the other hand seems unsure.

C:  

The evidence are:

"Well", said Martha Stoutly...; and

"Not at all-really. But I never though of that before."

E:

The evidence of the answer is reflected in the way Martha spoke. She said to have spoken "Stoutly". Mary on the other hand is shown to be unsure of herself. This is because when Martha asked her about what she thought about herself, she had to pause to think about it. Note that in her response, she even said she had not given it a thought before.
