An Embarrassing First Date
My first date with Kennedi was embarrassing. 21 decided to take
her to a small Italian restaurant. 3That my friends told me had reason-able prices. 4 looked over the menu and realized I could not pro-nounce the names of the dishes. Such as "bucatini con funghi" and
"fettucini alfredo." Then I noticed a burning smell. The candle on the
table was starting to blacken. 8And scorch the back of my menu. Trying to be casual, I quickly poured half my glass of water onto the menu. When the waiter returned to our table. "He asked me if I wanted to order some wine. 21 ordered a bottle of Blue Nun. 13The only
wine that I had heard of and could pronounce. 14The waiter brought the wine, poured a small amount into my glass, and waited. 151 said, “You don't have to stand there. We can pour the wine ourselves." 16 After the waiter put down the wine bottle and left. 7 Kennedi told me I was sup-posed to taste the wine. 18Feeling like a complete fool.11 barely managed to get through the dinner. 20 However, after I texted Kennedi to apologize for my awkwardness, we decided to start over and go on another date.
