It sells apples for 30p and oranges for 40p.

What is ratio?

The ratio is defined as the comparison of two quantities of the same units that indicates how much of one quantity is present in the other quantity.

According to the question

A shop sells apples and oranges in the ratio 5:2

Let constant multiple of the ratio as a

Now,

Apples = 5a

Oranges = 2a

Total pieces of fruit sell = 35

i.e

5a + 2a = 35

7a = 35

a = 5

Therefore,

Apples = 5*5 = 25

Oranges = 2*5 = 10

Now ,

Shop sells apples at =  30p

Shop sells oranges at = 40p

Total money  the shop receive = 30 * 25 + 40 * 10

                                                    = 1150 p

Paisa to Indian rupee :               100p = ₹1

                                                    =  ₹11.50

Now, Indian rupee to pounds :

1 Indian Rupee equals 0.011 Pound (according to current market value)

₹11.50  is equal to 0.12 Pound

Hence, Total money does the shop receive is  0.12 Pound .
