Sagot :
Answer:
Permissive.
Explanation:
The four types of parenting styles and how they are categorized include:
Authoritarian: Authoritarian parents typically want full control, with little to no room for negotiating. All household rules are to be followed at all times disregarding circumstances in most cases, and children are not allowed to voice their own concerns or opinions.
Authoritative: Authoritative parents creates, carefully explains, and enforce any household rules, and typically have a logical reasoning behind set rules. They also take into account the child's feelings as well as any surrounding events that may cause a event to occur.
Permissive: Permissive parents do set rules, but rarely enforce them. They are extremely lenient and typically only intervene when their children is in extreme danger. They may encourage children to do certain behaviors and discourage them from others, but are not strict in any way.
Uninvolved: Uninvolved parents are typically what is viewed as a "bad parent", as they rarely know nor do they care for what their child is doing, how they are feeling, or anything. Children typically raise themselves in these scenarios. Many parents that fall into this category has substance abuse or mental health issues that lead to them not caring for their children in a proper manner.

It is hard to simply identify what kind of parenting style a parent chooses based on one event, as different parents may have interest or enforce certain aspects of a child's life more than others. For example, one parent may be extremely keen to a child's safety, but may be extremely lax with their nurture. Another example may be that a parent may set many rules and enforce them without questions, but may leave out certain scenarios for self-interpretation.
In the case of Maria, she is seen from one scenario as "considering her son her best friend, and sharing smokes with him". This scenario lands Maria into the Permissive Parenting section, as they act more as friends and allow him to do whatever he wants (evident with the idea of him owning his own supply as well as partaking together in smoking).
