The Gospel of John is that the fourth of the four canonical gospels. It presumably arose within a "Johannine community", and – because it is closely related a la mode and content to the three Johannine epistles – most scholars treat the four books, together with the Book of Revelation, as one corpus of Johannine literature, albeit not from the identical author.
