Habitat is not a water quality monitoring parameter.
There are three types of parameter used to determine the water quality.
- Physical- Temperature, turbidity, Color and taste.
- Chemical- salinity, pH, COD and BOD.
- Biological- Most probable Number-MPN ( microbes) especially coliform bacterial count.
Habitat is the one which doesn't comes under any of these three types, whereas turbidity is the physical parameter, salinity and pH are the chemical parameters used to check the quality of water
