The aquatic animal's respiratory system is different from the human respiratory system because the aquatic animals have gills while the human has lungs.

What is respiratory system?

The respiratory system is one of the major systems of the body that helps in the intake of oxygen and removal of carbondioxide as waste products from the body.

The aquatic animals are those animals that live, reproduce and survive in the water while human survive in the terrestrial ecosystem.

Due to the difference in the ecosystem existing between the aquatic animals and humans, they have different respiratory system that functions differently too.

The aquatic animals possess gills which can absorb oxygen from water while the human has lungs which allows the diffuser of oxygen with release of carbon dioxide.
