Augustus Constantine, I was a roman ruler in 324. He restructured the government, separating civil and military authorities. To curb inflation, he introduced a new gold coin that became the standard usage for Byzantine. He reorganized the army to consist of mobile units and troops which countered internal threats and invasions. He also pursued campaigns against the tribes on the Roman frontiers, such as the Alemanni, and resettled territories abandoned by his predecessors.
Justinian I took power in 527 until his death in 565, was also a great ruler of the Byzantine Empire. During his reign, Justinian’s armies conquered part of the Western Empire, including North Africa. Justinian made monuments. Justinian also reformed the law, establishing a Code that ran for centuries.
