For x=1

y=d(1/2)^1=d/2

For x=2

y=d(1/2)^2=d/4

After the sixth step the total distance traveled is equal to

d/2+d/4+d/8+d/16+d/32+d/64

so

(d/64)(32+16+8+4+2+1)
