It is croosly divided into two parts when checked from above which are the right and a left lobe. When it is checked from below, it is divided into four parts which are the left, right, caudate, and quadrate lobes.

The liver has various functions, but its main activity within the idgestive system is to process the nutrients consumed from the small intestine. The bile from the liver that is ecreted into the small intestine show a crucial role in digesting fat and some vitamins. The liver is considered as the body's chemical factory.
