Azrin (1974) 92 was the first to explain dry bed training. The technique for dry bed training was defined as a first night of intensive training that included positive practice one hour before bedtime, being provided hydration at bedtime, an alarm, hourly waking, and hygiene training when the child was wet. Following the initial night's treatment, post-treatment supervision was provided, which included an alarm, positive practice if the child had been wet the night before, waking the child when the parent went to bed, cleanliness training if the child wet the bed, and praise if the child was dry in the morning. If the child was dry for 7 consecutive nights, the alarm was turned off, and the parent continued to check the crib.
