Three workers sort 66 boxes in a day. One of the workers is three times more productive than the second worker and twice as productive as the third worker. How many boxes did the second most productive worker sort?

so:

[tex]66=x+ \frac{x}{3}+ \frac{x}{2} [/tex]

[tex]66=x+\frac{2x}{6}+ \frac{3x}{6} [/tex]

[tex]66*6=6x+2x+3x[/tex]

[tex]396=11x[/tex]

[tex]x=36[/tex]

so:

worker [tex]1[/tex] sorted [tex]36[/tex] boxes
worker [tex]2[/tex] sorted [tex]18[/tex] boxes
worker [tex]3[/tex] sorted [tex]12[/tex] boxes
