Amy raised £n for charity. Chris raised £18 more than Amy.
The mean amount raised by the two of them is £45. Work out how much money each one of them raised..

[tex]Chris=n+18[/tex]

Mean:
[tex]45= \frac{(n)+(n+18)}{2} [/tex]
So, [tex]45=n+9[/tex]
Therefore, [tex]n=36[/tex]

[tex]Amy=n=36pounds[/tex]
[tex]Chris=n+18=54pounds[/tex]
