The motivation for european exploration in the 15th and 16th centuries was definitely A and D. It is also true that Ottoman empire did take control of the Silk road in 1453. that leaves the B as your answer for a non-motivator for european exploration. It makes sense really. Greek and Roman are both found in Europe!
