THe Length of A Rectangle is 3 times the width. The Perimeter is 44cm. What are the dimensions of the Rectangle ?
I Need Help. i'Ve Been Trying For Hours, And i Can't Figure it Out. I would Greatly Appricate it if you Could Show me step by step on how you got the answer.
The length is 3 times the width and the perimeter is 44cm
Width=w
Length=3w
Formula for perimeter is 2length+2width
So substitute the things you know
44=2(3w)+2(w)
44=6w+2w
44=8w
Divide by 8
5.5=w
Meaning that the width is 5.5cm and the length is 16.5cm
I hope this helps.
