Determine values of c and d for √which the equation √(3x-1) - √(cx + d) = 0 has no solution.
I added √(cx + d) to both sides and squared them..3x-1 = cx + d
rearranged to get 3x - cx = d + 1; then factored out x to get x(3 - c) = d + 1
then divided x = ( d + 1) / ( 3 - c) therefore c ≠ 3 what about d?
I'm not sure what question is asking when looking for c and d
so there is no solution when it is false so your reasoning is correct, it divides by zero making it false so c must be 3 and d can be any number. not completely sure
