Jay evaluated the expression 3x(3+12 (divided by)3)-4 for his first step he added 3+12 to get 15. What is jays error? Find the correct answer. ( sorry their was no division sign)

By the order of operations, division takes place before addition.  So, (3+12/3) is not equal to (3+12)/3.  He should have gotten 3+12/3=3+4=7.

the answer is jays error is wrong because in PEMDAS you always divide instead of adding because the D means divided and the A means Addition and says to divide first.
