Why is DNA replication called a "semi-conservative" process?
Because when the DNA replication occurs, it will first uncoiling. And each strand will be a template for replicating. So the new DNA will have one strand from the origin DNA and one strand from newly synthesis. That's the reason of semi-conservation.
