What is the answer to the equation 5x=2x+20?

Sagot :

[tex]5x = 2x + 20 \\ subtract--------\ \textgreater \ -2x \\ 3x = 20 \\ Divide -----\ \textgreater \ 3x \\ \\ x = 6 \frac{2}{3} [/tex]

I don't know.  But I know how to find it.  Let's work it out together:

                                              5x  =  2x + 20

Subtract  2x  from each side:    3x  =  20

Divide each side by  3 :              x  =  20/3  or    ( 6 and 2/3 ).
