President Roosevelt failed to use his Fireside Chat to convince Americans that the Supreme Court needed to be expanded. In 1937, Roosevelt proposed the Judicial Procedures Reform Bill, often referred to as the "court-packing plan," which aimed to add more justices to the U.S. Supreme Court. Despite his efforts, including addressing the nation through his Fireside Chats, he did not succeed in gaining widespread public or political support for this initiative.
