Sociology is useful in our everyday lives and careers because it helps us understand why and how people act and think as they do. Explain how the study of sociology matters in your career or personal life.

Then choose one of the following theorists: Émile Durkheim, Karl Marx, W.E.B. Du Bois, Harriet Martineau, or Max Weber, and watch the corresponding video listed in the Study Materials section (above). Briefly summarize the video.
